Warren Street has become known as an antiquers paradise. With block after block of stores carrying mid-century modern, English regency, early American and every Louie that France ever had, there is something for everyone. Newer shopping opportunities are there for those with a modern bent as well as fine food and gifts - all within walking distance of the USGH.

FASNY Easily reached by bus from the USGH, a wonderful museum on the history of firefighting in America.

Hudson Opera House – www.hudsonoperahouse.org at 327 Warren hosts our annual Winter Walk the first week of December when Warren Street closes and fireworks reign.

Stage Works Theatre – www.stageworkshudson.org at 41 Cross Street has plays and gallery spaces. Across from the train station, you can reach them at 518 828 7843.

Stair Galleries – www.stairgalleries.com - holds auctions every month or so at 549 Warren Street. Open 9-5 M-F.

Time and Space Limited. – www.timeandspace.org at 434 Columbia, one block off Warren, is known for their cutting edge performances, films and galleries. 518 822 8448.

A good way of knowing who is where and when, is a visit to the Columbia County Council on the Arts at 209 Warren Street.

ArtsColumbia.org This organization sponsors ARTWALK which takes over the store windows on Warren and fills them with art every October.

Bard College – www.bard.edu - the new Fisher Music Center is a Gehry masterpiece that must be seen. The campus bookstore is open for an academic browse.

Cedar Grove – www.thomascole.org - the home of Hudson River School painter Thomas Cole. Pick up a map and follow the Art Trail. See the views that inspired their art.

Your Special Event

Hudson and Union Street Guest House are a great destination for a get together. We are located 40 minutes from Albany International Airport, 2 hours by train from New York and 3 hours from Boston. Being so easily accessed, Hudson is a great city to host a small reunion, a big birthday or any size group in between. There are several private rooms and caterers in Hudson you might not easily find. A few are listed below and all of them will help your event be a joyous affair.

Bezalel Gables – elegent venue and wonderful catered food using the finest local produce from the Hudson Valley.

Hudson Wine Merchants – a second floor contemporary photo gallery hosts private parties. Winetastings for groups arranged.

Space 360 – a large full service event space with a professional demonstration kitchen and well wired conference rooms. Great for corporate brainstorming week ends.

Vince Mulford’s Antiques – offers an amazing second floor dance hall entirely illuminated by candlelight. A built in bar and mirrored sconces makes this space great for a good DJ and lots of fun.
